Back then, we were dreamers and creators, working in both design and development. Every project was a pixelated dream, and we were the creators of these online worlds.

Facing reality

However, ambition often forgets that the earth beneath has its limits. Our aspiration to be a one-stop-shop clashed with reality: mastering every field was impossible our enthusiastic but modestly-sized team. We were jacks-of-all-trades, but the digital world demanded masters.

Faced with this crossroad, a decisive pivot was made: AppSaloon would focus on development and hire experts to build a great team. We split our services in a dedicated web-team and an app-team. This sharpened our focus, deepened our expertise, and out of this transformation, we became a more refined version of ourselves.

But the digital world is always changing, like shifting sands. After ten years, we started to notice a trend, though it happened so slowly that it was almost invisible at first. WordPress, the titan of the web world, had become our primary focus. Our app-team, had many challenges, until the difficult decision was made: we closed its doors.

Sometime, we receive requests like, “Can you help us with an app?” Our reply, tinged with the bittersweet taste of transformation, was a polite but firm “No, we don’t do apps anymore.”

A call for change
